The 2020 FRC Game: Infinite Recharge

The Infinite Recharge game involves two alliances of three teams each, with each team controlling a robot and performing specific tasks on a field to score points. The game centers around a futuristic city theme involving two alliances consisting of three teams each competing to perform various tasks, including shooting foam balls known as Power Cells into high and low goals to activate a Shield Generator, manipulating a Control Panel to activate this shield, and returning to the Shield Generator to park or climb at the end of the match. The objective is to energize and activate the shield before the match ends and asteroids strike FIRST City, a futuristic city modeled after Star Wars.

Our 2020 Robot: Whiteout

Robot Info

  • West Coast Drivetrain with 6 pneumatic wheels that can reach a top speed of 13.97 feet per second.

  • Intake used mecanum wheels that were made in-house on the Roller Bar. Designed for a "touch it, own it" mechanism.

  • Single Flywheel Shooter. 3 to 1 pulley ratio powered by two 7775 pros. Mostly made of sheet metal with the exception of a 3D-printed hood.

  • Post-Covid we improved the whiteout electrical system and climber to help teach new rookies and prepare for offseason competitions.

  • The Climber can clearly be seen in the image, it is powered by two falcon 500s and a custom gearbox. It also has a Brake to keep the climber from moving and therefore holding the Robot in the air.

AWARDS & RESULTS

Whiteout was 4-9-0 in official play in 2020. Team 3506 ranked 39 in the state having earned 24 points.
