FIRST Events
Our FIRST Family extends even further as we partner and initiate events, providing opportunities for FIRST participants across North Carolina!
FLL Semi-Final Tournament
On December 9th, 2023, we hosted the North Carolina FIRST Lego League Semi-Final Tournament A at Whitewater Middle School. At this tournament, over 35 teams were able to compete for a spot at State Championships and over 675 people attended, engaging members of the school and the FIRST community.
Doyenne Inspiration West
This year, YETI and FRC teams 5190 Green Hope Falcons, 2642 Pitt Pirates, 3737 Roto Raptors, 7443 Jag-Wires, and 6894 Iced Java collaborated to create Doyenne Inspiration West, an all-girls offseason competition. YETI initiated Doyenne West to spread FIRST throughout the state and provide off-season competition opportunities to underprivileged areas throughout North Carolina.
FRC Scrimmage
In the 2023 FRC season, we hosted an FRC Scrimmage with over 200 participants from FRC teams across the state. FRC teams 4290 Bots On Wheels, 6894 Iced Java, 5727 Omegabytes, 4795 Eastbots, 4935 T-Rex and 8429 Valence participated, and together, we all gathered to spread the FIRST spirit, assist each other, and create excitement before competition starts. Due to our move this year, we were unable to host a scrimmage but plan to host it annually starting next season!
FLL Qualifier
In partnership with Olympic High School and NC A&T, we hosted an FLL Qualifier before the pandemic and for the 2022-2023 season, providing 22 teams with the opportunity to compete and share the spirit of FIRST with over 550 people. Our own rookie teams, Team BeeBots and Team Robotin also competed, with the Beebots placing 2nd in Robot Design. The spirit at the competition was truly energizing, and we cannot wait to host more events to engage the community.
